A Post-Election Conversation with NAHU’s Janet Trautwein

Paul Roberts, Word & Brown’s Senior Director of Education and Market Development, hosted a conversation this week with Janet Trautwein, CEO of the National Association of Health Underwriters (NAHU) and President of the NAHU Education Foundation, concerning the November 2022 election.

They discussed a range of topics affecting health insurance brokers and your clients, including:

• The changing composition of Congress – and a likely split in Democratic and Republication control (with votes in the U.S. House and Senate races still pending);

• Possible future action on Health Savings Accounts, High-Definition Health Plans, and telemedicine – and likely inaction on Single Payer (because of split control);

• The importance of getting involved with NAHU – both through Operation Shout and membership to advocate on behalf of insurance professionals.
