CHOICE Administrators has also launched a new advertising campaign, “California Different,” targeting all of its customers, including brokers, small business employers, their employees, and insured family members. The implementation of the “California Different” branding campaign will occur in traditional and digital mediums including print, social media, events, video, email, and content marketing throughout 2020.

“We’re getting back to our roots, which celebrate and recognize the unique differences of our customers,” says Polly Neves, Vice President of Marketing at The Word & Brown Companies, parent organization of CHOICE Administrators. “We appreciate those differences, because our employee benefit programs are different from others in the market as well.”

John M. Word III and Edward J. “Rusty” Brown, Jr., co-founders of The Word & Brown Companies, introduced the CaliforniaChoice multi-carrier, private health insurance exchange in 1996. As veteran health insurance brokers, they recognized that there was a need for a solution that allowed employees to select their own health plan and coverage. Their answer was a single program providing access to multiple health plan options. The program gave employees the freedom to choose a health plan option that best fits their needs, while allowing employers to manage a fixed insurance budget.

The CaliforniaChoice portfolio includes coverage from eight health plans for businesses with up to 100 employees. The health plans participating in the program include Anthem Blue Cross, Health Net, Kaiser Permanente, Oscar Health, Sharp Health Plan, Sutter Health Plus, UnitedHealthcare, and Western Health Advantage.

The ChoiceBuilder ancillary benefits exchange offers dental, vision, chiropractic and acupuncture, and life insurance to organizations with up to 199 employees. Coverage is available from multiple insurers and administrators, including Ameritas, Anthem Blue Cross, Assurity Life, Delta Dental, EyeMed, Landmark Healthplan, MetLife, and VSP.

Brokers interested in offering CaliforniaChoice and ChoiceBuilder can reach out directly to CHOICE Administrators or contact any of its California General Agent partners: BenefitMall, Beere & Purves, Dickerson Insurance Services, LISI, Rogers Benefit Group, Warner Pacific, or Word & Brown.

Small business owners and managers who want to learn more about CaliforniaChoice and ChoiceBuilder should talk with their employee benefits representative, or visit MyCalChoice.com to find a broker.
