Word & Brown Names New CEO

Word & Brown General Agency, an Orange-based provider of insurance and health benefit brokers with more than 500 employees, named current President Jessica Word as its new chief executive.

Co-founders John M. Word III, father of Jessica Word, and Edward J. “Rusty” Brown, Jr., also announced the promotion to president of Marc McGinnis, who was senior vice president of Sales and Strategic Client Management.

“We are very excited about the next chapter for Jessica, Marc, and the General Agency,” John Word said in a statement. “As we head into Word & Brown’s 37th year serving brokers in California and Nevada, we know Jessica and Marc’s passion will help us continue to grow and simplify access to greater health insurance choices for our customers.”

Jessica Word in 2013 became president of Word & Brown General Agency, after seven years as executive vice president of operations.
