Nevada Health Link Enrolls 14,570 Nevadans in First Month of Open Enrollment Period

Open Enrollment through NevadaHealthLink.com is the one time of year Nevadans can freely enroll or make changes to their health insurance plan without experiencing a qualifying life event. Nevada’s Open Enrollment Period began on November 1 and 14,570 Nevadans have already taken action to actively shop and enroll in plans in the first month.

Of the over 14,000 enrollees’ active enrollments, 5,890 are new enrollees, meaning they were not previously enrolled in a plan through NevadaHealthLink.com. This is nearly double the number of new enrollees compared to  the same time last year in the first month of Open Enrollment. Additionally, 8,670 consumers were active re-enrollees, meaning they were previously enrolled in a plan, but actively changed or updated their plan for the new year. In total, Nevada Health Link has over 82,000 Nevadans enrolled in plans.

The Open Enrollment Period started off stronger than ever this year with 1,834 Nevadans enrolling in coverage in the first seven days: the highest Nevada Health Link has ever seen in the first week of Open Enrollment.

Nevada Health Link is the only place Nevadans can take advantage of financial assistance or tax credits to offset the costs of monthly premiums making it one of the most affordable options available to Nevadans seeking coverage. 94% of enrollees are utilizing subsidies to lower the cost of their monthly premium.

Nevada Health Link also offers free local enrollment assistance through a network of licensed enrollment professionals to help Nevadans navigate the enrollment process by comparing plans, finding savings, and working with each individual or family’s budget and health needs. Help is available in person or over the phone, with assistance available in multiple languages. Getting through to the phone lines has been quick and efficient this year, with a call center customer satisfaction rate of 94% this Open Enrollment.

“Shopping on Nevada Health Link has never been easier, and we are proud to see so many Nevadans take action and prioritize their health this season,” said Katie Charleson, the Communications Officer at Nevada Health Link. “We have expanded our network of certified enrollment assisters this year, offering even more assistance throughout the enrollment process. We encourage Nevadans to seek our free local enrollment assistance if they need help choosing a plan or have questions about what coverage is right for their lifestyle.”

Nevada Health Link is ideal for those who don’t qualify for Medicare (65+) or Medicaid benefits; those who don’t have employer-sponsored health insurance, including independent contractors and gig workers; and Nevadans seeking comprehensive, quality, and affordable plans.
