Word & Brown Hosts Post-Election Conversation With NAHU CEO

Paul Roberts, Word & Brown’s Senior Director of Education and Market Development, hosted a conversation this month with Janet Trautwein, CEO of the National Association of Health Underwriters (NAHU), concerning the results of the November 2022 election.

They discussed a range of topics affecting health insurance brokers and consumers, including:

  • * The changing composition of Congress – and a likely split in Democratic and Republication control in the U.S. House and U.S. Senate races – especially with some races still pending;
  • * Possible future action by Congress on health care-related matters, including Health Savings Accounts (HSAs), High-Definition Health Plans (HDHPs), and telemedicine;
  • * Probable inaction on Single Payer – both because of its costs and split control in Congress;
  • * The importance of brokers being involved with NAHU – both through Operation Shout and membership to advocate on behalf of insurance professionals.

If you were unable to listen in on the conversation on November 15, we encourage you to access the recording of Paul and Janet via YouTube.
